A Personalized Approach to Alaska Bald Eagle Photography Workshops & Tours

The Chilkat Eagle Preserve, along the Chilkat River outside Haines, Alaska, is world famous for the incredible bald eagle gathering. The eagle counts have been as high as 3000, as they congregate to feed on the chum salmon. Better than Homer, AK!!! This is the greatest place in the United States for bald eagles to congregate. Some say the best place in the world. If it were up to us, we would go with best place on Earth!

Adventure through the winter in southeastern Alaska alongside an Award-winning wildlife photographer as your photography guide and instructor.

Our focus will be capturing stunning images of eagles as they soar high above, dive down from the sky to catch fish, and fight other eagles over their catch. It seems many eagles are more interested in fighting over fish, than catching one of their own. Join us for this one of a kind photographic adventure!

On this photography workshop & tour, designed for photographers of all levels, you will focus on the majestic bald eagle, and their fight for food during the cold winter months. Activity level is mild, requiring less than 1/2 mile of walking each day. Walking on packed snow and ice may be required.

During the Alaska Bald Eagle Photography workshop, a renowned wildlife photographer will assist participants in capturing clear and stunning images of eagles across the picturesque stretches of the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve. Witness these magnificent birds, boasting 7-foot wingspans, perched on branches as they await their feast of 15-pound salmon from the Chilkat River. Unlike other photography excursions in Alaska, this workshop offers the opportunity to observe bald eagles' natural behaviors without the need for bait or captive birds!!

The Alaska Bald Eagle Photography Workshop offers prime opportunities to observe bald eagles congregating along snow-capped sandbars, perched on snags emerging from the icy river, and roosting in the branches of trees overhead and in trees across the river.

A group of 2 - 3 participants is only an additional $2450 for each participant over the single photographer rate. I don't charge full price for each additional participant in your group like other guides. Groups larger than 3 will have additional discounts applied, and we will use a larger vehicle. The 2 participant discounted package is based on double occupancy. If single occupancy rooms are requested, it is an additional $750 for each additional single occupancy room.

This bald eagle tour is not limited to photographers. Anyone interested in seeing bald eagles up close are welcome to join the tour.

Due to the proximity to wildlife, pets are not allowed on the photography workshop. Thank you for understanding.

Tour groups are limited to 3 people. The small group size will allow everyone plenty of room for personal space and photographic gear. It will also allow plenty of time for One-on-One photographic instruction.

Groups of 3 or more can be accommodated and should contact me directly to make reservations.

What to expect after registering

• After your deposit is processed, you will receive a Booking Confirmation Email that has Lodge Information, Hotel Information, Airport Information and Ferry Information.
• 120 days prior to the workshop, the remaining amount is due, and you will receive the 120 Day Email that includes Things to Bring, Airport / Ferry Transfer Information, as well as my Cold Weather Photography Checklist.
• 30 days prior to the workshop, you will receive the 30 Day Email that includes What to Pack, Travelling with Photography Gear, and Pick up Information again.
• 3 days prior to the workshop, you will receive a quick email to touch base that includes the Pick up Information, and my Contact Information, again.
