We are dedicated to making your Alaska bear photography workshop & tour the best possible experience you can have.
You will spend your time photographing brown bears at the best place in the United States, Brooks Falls at Brooks Camp, in Katmai National Park, Alaska. From there, you will travel to Kodiak to photograph the Kodiak bears! Why see only Alaskan brown bears, when you can also see Kodiak bears!
Our ultimate goal is to go beyond the expected and deliver stunning results!!
You will spend your summer trip, alongside an Award-winning wildlife photographer as your photography guide and instructor. This is the greatest place in the United States for brown bears and Kodiak bear. Some say even the best place in the world. If it were up to us, we would go with best place on Earth!
Time will be spent reviewing and one-on-one instruction is the biggest benefit of this workshop & tour. You are not shipped in a huge group, with someone that is only there to herd the participants, not help them with their photography, or make sure they have a satisfying experience.
Activity level: Moderate due to the total amount of walking each day on well-established paths, platforms and bridge.
Each participant will be required to bring camping gear for the 4-night stay in Katmai National Park and Preserve. Don't worry, there is a large, designated area with campsites, bathrooms, luggage storage, food storage and is surrounded by an electric fence. If you prefer a 4-bed cabin, with heat, electricity, bathroom and shower, we need to know before January 1st. Cabin accommodations may be availability for an extra $850 per night, plus a 6% occupancy tax. That is the current rate, as posted on the Brooks Camp website. On the 5th day, we will travel to Kodiak Island to photography the Kodiak bears for 2 full days.
The small group size will allow everyone plenty of room for personal space and photographic gear. It will also allow plenty of time for One-on-One photographic instruction.
Our focus will be to capture images of bears at two of the best locations in the world. Join us for this one of a kind photographic adventure!
This bear photography tour is not limited to photographers. Anyone interested in seeing Alaskan brown bears and Kodiak bears up close in the wild are welcome to join the tour. Camera phones are acceptable for travel companions, but consumer photography gear is not. Travel companions will pay only $2,850 based on double occupancy, plus one single occupancy fee of $450 for the reservation if both are requesting separate rooms. Due to the proximity to wildlife, pets are not allowed on the photography workshop. Thank you for understanding.
The 2 photographer discounted package is based on double occupancy. If single occupancy rooms are requested below, it is an additional $450.
Tour groups are limited to 4 people.
Groups of 4 or more can be accommodated and should contact me directly to make reservations.
Private workshops or tours are also an option. Message for details.
